Actually, that would be appropriately entitled "Tales of a Nine Year Old Basketball Player's Mother".
I'm kind of afraid to ask her about it. :)
She agreed to play on the third grade team this year. We didn't have to push...she really wanted to. So we were thrilled. Maybe I should mention here that our oldest child is probably not the most blessed with athletic abilities. I can say that because she got that from me. Sad, but true.
She's had some tears, been ready to quit, and hated parts of it, but those were just the times when her dad tried to coach her. :) Kind of like when he tries to coach me. Let's just learn our boundaries.
But overall, she's done well, enjoyed herself, and had a great time with her team.
It's also given me an opportunity to take some time off. Which is nice, seeing as how I'm moving pretty slow these days.
There aren't many action shots to choose from. :)
Her team is undefeated, not that it matters or means anything. But, it's building confidence and teamwork.
Twice they've been in sudden death situations and on this particular time, one of the girls made the tie-breaking free throw. They've never even practiced free throws! :)
Special thanks to the moms that helped coach. It's a great bunch of girls and it's been fun watching them play!
