I know....it's Wednesday....

But between testing and pregnancy, my brain is doing pretty well to help me put my shoes on this morning.

I don't even have a cute Leap Year photo.

So, I thought I'd go back in the hard drive and look for pictures from the last Leap Day.....2008.  Wow.  Total time warp.

I got my first DSL in the summer of 08, so you're gonna see some pretty rough shots but I wanted to post some from four years ago.

Be prepared to bawl your eyes out.  (ok....maybe that's just me.)

This sweet little man doesn't turn one for a couple of weeks, but since I'm going to be out at that time, we celebrated early. 

He didn't seem to mind.  :)

Don't let the frosting on the lip fool you.  The balloon was the best part!

I could not get over how much this little guy looks just like his dad.  So. Stinkin. Cute.

Every Four Years....

There's something fun about leap years.  Maybe because it's just something different.

Me and my classmates were born in a leap year, so one of my friends will be turning a single digit this year.  :)  We thought it was pretty awesome in high school when she was celebrating her 4th birthday while the rest of us were turning 16.  Actually, I'm sure she got sick of it, but I thought it was pretty unique!

Since we have one coming up in just a few days, I'm gonna celebrate with a fun deal.

It's something new....something I thought would be just as fun as getting older every four years!

From now until February 29th, you can order a case for your iPhone for a special price!

Last Tuesday

I'm a little behind on family/life/entertainment updates.  Sorry.

So last Tuesday was Valentine's.  I've always loved this holiday.  Not sure why.  Maybe because I could always look forward to a new piece of clothing when I was a kid.  (Usually a red sweater.  Not homemade.  :) )  I think that's where I realized I loved giving gifts on Valentine's more than receiving.

I haven't had a whole lot of energy lately, but seemed to be able to have enough to get the kids' gifts ready after they went to bed. 

Here's what the building process looked like.  You can probably see what's in there.  Trust me....it wasn't easy!

If you're going to do this, make sure you have decent balloons.  I think these were 15".  I wasn't really sure what I could get away with, but was happy with the five things I did get in there. 

Disclaimer: Please be careful when inflating!!

I didn't try helium because I knew they woudln't float anyway.

The kids had a blast trying to figure out how to get into them.  Neither wanted to pop them but they both wanted the goodies inside!

Maybe I had two different shoes on.  Maybe.  :)

Wordless Wednesday

WARNING: Cold-Blooded Reptiles Ahead -- Kansas ?Reptile? Photographer

Mom....stop.  You don't want to see this.

Ok....everybody else, you've had your warning. I just feel like it's my duty to protect everyone from the scales and such.

Really, it's not that bad, but there are snakes and alligators.  And this kid probably has the nicest parents on the planet!  

First up is the alligator.  Yes, you heard me right...."Read my lips: Al-lee-gat-or"....Name that movie!

Was it Arnie Alligator?  Alice?  Anyway, she was pleasant as far as alligators go.  So was the owner.  :)

Then "Strike", who is a ball python.  I kind of warmed up to her too, seeing as how she had some molting issues and all.  I can relate to a girl that needs a little lotion.  :)

Actually, I think I was a little more alarmed editing than I was during the shoot with Strike.  Because...it dawned on me...she kind of acted like she'd like to strike me!

Thankfully, she only yawned, which of course - I missed - because I was so in awe of how big her mouth opened up. 

And then, the grandest of them all....Vinnie, the red tail boa.  This was probably the one that I was the more "apprehensive" (shall we say) of at the studio.  Partially due to it's size, partially due to the fact that it kept trying look him in the face......{shutter}, I didn't get too close. 

See what I mean??
